Frequently asked questions
Are you DBS checked?
Yes! I have an enhanced DBS certificate that is on the update service, so it’s always up to date. While there is no legal requirement in the UK for family photographers to be DBS checked, I believe it’s important to take every opportunity to make sure parents know that their loved ones are in safe hands.
Are your newborn poses safe?
I always prioritise safety during any session, and I will never attempt to pose a baby in a position that is uncomfortable or unnatural for them. Sometimes people request specific poses that I do not ever attempt due to safety considerations, including the ‘froggy’ pose. No photograph, no matter how beautiful, is ever worth risking your child’s safety and wellbeing. I have also been trained in newborn safety and photography, and I take every opportunity I can to keep my training up to date so that I am always using current best practice.
Do you charge for consultations?
No, I never charge for standard consultations. I just want to get to know you and answer any questions you might have. If you decide to book with me afterwards, great! If you don’t, then there’s no hard feelings and I hope you find what you’re looking for.
Is this your full-time job?
Yes. And I can’t imagine doing anything else.
